The Aldrin Family Foundation’s Ambassador Program is a volunteer community of K-12 educators who support our mission of bringing space education into classrooms and increasing STEAM engagement in students to inspire the next generation of space explorers. What is the AFF Ambassador program?
The Aldrin Family Foundation’s (AFF) Ambassador program is volunteer community of educators passionate about space education and support our mission at AFF. As an AFF Ambassador, you will have exclusive access to quarterly webinars and workshops, annual challenges and prizes, VIP invitations to AFF events, special discounts on AFF programs, social media/website amplification, and more. We encourage our ambassadors to advocate for AFF’s educational programs and initiatives, share their personal experiences to inspire others and connect with fellow ambassadors to share valuable space-related resources.
What are the benefits of becoming an AFF Ambassador?
Educators accepted into the AFF Ambassador program will be eligible for the following benefits:
Exclusive Invitations: VIP access to attend quarterly workshops and special events with AFF team and expert guest speakers
Network: Connect and share best practices with fellow ambassadors worldwide
Represent AFF: Special opportunities to represent AFF at STEAM industry events on behalf of or with the AFF team
Feedback Opportunities: Engage with the AFF team to provide feedback on updates to AFF programs

Digital Badges: Digital ambassador badge to proudly share on your email signature, LinkedIn, or other social media

What is expected of me as an AFF Ambassador?
As part of the AFF Ambassador program, ambassadors will be asked to actively advocate for AFF’s programs within their community. Full expectations include:
Attend at least three of the four quarterly virtual AFF Ambassador Program exclusive workshops and/or webinars hosted by the AFF team
Ambassadors may also have the opportunity to host AFF workshops and/or webinars
Engage in your community and/or classroom with AFF programs, with at least one of the following activities (below) per quarter:
Share AFF news and/or personal experiences using AFF programs (e.g., Giant Moon Map™) on social media
Serve as a volunteer representative of AFF at select AFF and/or STEAM Education events as invited by the AFF team
Provide feedback to AFF’s programs as requested by the AFF team
Participate in the annual AFF Ambassador Challenge based on the year’s theme:
The Challenge submissions will be judged by the AFF team and peer ambassadors
First place winners will receive a scholarship to attend the upcoming annual AFF Space Curriculum Collaborative
Second place winners will receive a free Giant Moon or Mars Map™
Please note that ambassadors must meet the above participation requirements to remain in the program for their three-year tenure.
How can I apply to become an AFF Ambassador?
Applications to become an AFF Ambassador open every fall and are announced every January. Ambassadors selected by the AFF team will spend a three-year tenure in the program. Applications for 2026 Ambassadors are open now until December 15, 2025! Apply here
Eligibility & Selection Criteria
Active, licensed educators who are passionate about space education and have attended AFF’s Space Curriculum Collaborative™ are eligible to apply. Applicants should demonstrate initiative in their communities by providing innovative space-themed opportunities to their students within the classroom and/or hosting space-themed events for students in their community (e.g., Space Day, field trips, clubs, etc.).
Application Process
Prospective Ambassadors will be required submit the following documentation in their applications:
A copy of your educator license or certificate. Your license or certificate must be current and valid, issued by a U.S. state or other government agency.
A lesson (teachers) or action plan (other educators) with the following requirements:
Lessons must be a unique, space-themed lesson or activity from any discipline and must be standards-aligned to your home state or the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)
Action plans (past or future) must include measurable steps specific to your organization and detail how you plan or successfully implemented to increase student engagement in space education.
Please note, submission of an application doesn’t guarantee acceptance into the AFF Ambassador Program. Ambassadors can also be removed from the program at any time at the AFF team’s discretion.
