Calling all K-12 educators!
The Aldrin Family Foundation’s Space Curriculum Collaborative™ (SCC) is a 4-day educator professional development workshop hosted annually at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and other locations around the world. At SCC, you will connect with other passionate space educators, learn new teaching perspectives, hear from expert guest speakers, and develop lessons to implement in your classroom.

The Aldrin Family Foundation’s Space Curriculum Collaborative™
The Aldrin Family Foundation’s (AFF) Space Curriculum Collaborative™ (SCC) is hosted annually at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Our vision for SCC is to give teachers the tools and experiences they need to successfully support students in a space education classroom. Our SCC attendees join us from all around the world and all licensed K-12 educators are eligible to join. Registration fees and access to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex are covered by the Aldrin Family Foundation. Registration for SCC opens every spring and fills up fast, so be sure to sign up on our early access form to be notified as soon as registration opens!

What to Expect:
Engaging Sessions: Hear from guest speakers and leading subject-matter experts in the space education field.
Interactive Tours: Explore NASA’s Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and gain insights into the history and future of space exploration.
Curriculum Development: Collaborate with fellow educators to develop rich curriculum materials you can implement in your own classroom.
Access to Resources: Gain access to Aldrin Family Foundation resources, including the Giant Moon and Mars Maps™. Guests will also have access to Blue Origin’s non-profit Club for the Future resources, such as the Postcards to Space program.
Lunch Provided: Join us for a complimentary lunch every day of the workshop.
Prizes and Giveaways: Win space-themed prizes and giveaways, including a chance to win a Giant Moon Map™

A Certificate of Completion will be provided to those who attend all four days, which can be counted towards teaching re-certification.

Any active formal and informal educators are welcome to attend. Most of our attendees are formal K-12 educators, but many administrators, education coaches, and post-secondary educators also attend.

We cover your registration costs, lunches, and your admission to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
You will be expected to make your own travel and hotel arrangements. If you are flying, we recommend traveling through Orlando International Airport (MCO) and renting a car or carpooling with other SCC attendees. The closest hotels to Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex are Courtyard by Marriott Titusville and Hyatt Place Titusville.

No. Due to the collaborative nature of this event, the SCC is hosted in-person only.

We typically run 9am to 4pm daily and host expert guest speakers, networking opportunities, curriculum development, and tours of Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. A detailed schedule will be shared with attendees closer to the event.
List of Past SCC Events and Highlights
2025, September 29 - October 3 Sydney, Australia. Our first Australian Space Curriculum Collaborative™ (ASCC) and an official International Astronomical Congress (IAC) concurrent event, in partnership with University of Sydney and New South Wales Department of Education. An incredible lineup of guest speakers included our very own Dr. Andy Aldrin and Dr. Kristina Otero, New South Wales Department of Education Dr. Scott Sleap, Victoria Space Science Education Centre (VSSEC) Emma Barnett, astrophysicist and science communicator Dr. Kirsten Banks, New South Wales Department of Education’s Dominique Higgins and Matthew Alterator, Australian Space Agency’s Maddy Parks, Robinson Aerospace Edward Robinson, Fizzics Education Ben Newsome, and many more. Special tours for ASCC attendees occurred at Sydney Observatory and CSIRO mobile education bus.
