Dr. Andy Aldrin

Chief Executive Officer & President

Dr. Andy Aldrin is the CEO and President of the Aldrin Family Foundation, and son of Apollo 11 Astronaut Buzz Aldrin. Dr. Aldrin believes in harnessing the inspiration of space to ignite a passion for STEAM in students of all ages and backgrounds. He has served in leadership roles at AFF since 2014, and since has overseen the extension of educational programs to over 300 schools and universities.

Dr. Aldrin is also the Executive Director for Space Programs at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) Worldwide, the largest graduate space studies program in the world. Previously, he was an Associate Professor of Engineering Management and Founder and Director of the International Space University (ISU) Center for Space Entrepreneurship at Florida Institute of Technology. Before moving into academia, Dr. Aldrin had a distinguished career in industry and government research, including executive positions at Boeing, United Launch Alliance (ULA), and Moon Express. He was also a member of the research staff at the RAND Corporation and the Institute for Defense Analyses.

Dr. Aldrin serves on the board of several charitable organizations, including The Secure World Foundation, Sea Space Symposium, and the Tau Zero Foundation. He holds a Ph.D. from UCLA in Political Science, an MBA from TRIUM (NYU, LSE, HEC), and an MA from George Washington University in Science, Technology, and Public Policy.
