Brenda Townsend

Education Programs Director

Brenda Townsend serves as the Education Program Director at the Aldrin Family Foundation, where she facilitates, coordinates, and supports programs that bring space science to life in classrooms across the nation. She manages initiatives such as the Giant Moon and Mars Maps, Rockets & Rovers Summer Camps, the Space Curriculum Collaborative, the Ambassador Program, and various special events. Brenda’s focus is on creating meaningful learning experiences that inspire curiosity, align with curriculum goals, and prepare today's learners to become explorers of tomorrow.

Brenda has over 32 years of experience in public education and a strong dedication to equitable, student-centered learning. She is a passionate advocate of hands-on, experiential education and has witnessed firsthand how it can spark imagination and create new opportunities.

A tinkerer and lifelong learner, Brenda finds inspiration everywhere from home renovation projects and creative pursuits to outdoor adventures, travel, and time with friends and family. She loves fall for its brilliant colors and the perfect excuse to layer cozy clothing. She also firmly believes pizza is the perfect food and that fixing things is really just an opportunity to buy more tools. Her passion for exploration, curiosity, and discovery shines through in everything she does.

Brenda is our Chief Comedic Officer. She likes to make Kristina laugh by coming up with silly jokes and keeps the team in high spirits with her positive and radiant energy.
